Rules to Avoid Scams and Rip-Offs

Rule 1: Never pay anyone advance fees ever. We repeat, NEVER! If you are asked by any talent agent for money before they find you a job, that they are NOT legitimate and you can be sure you are being ripped off.

Rule 2: Legitimate licensed acting agents never charge money or require up front fees. They receive 10% commission on jobs they book for you after you are paid for the job.

Rule 3: Legitimate licensed acting agencies have relationships with casting directors, personal managers, photographers, producers, and production companies. They can legally negotiate deals for you.

Childrens Casting Call Audition Tips
1. Encourage your child to be themselves. If your baby model, child model, teen model or child actor is the best "them" they can be.. you are ahead of the game and will enjoy the whole process as much as the rewards.
2. Some children may be shy and need encouragement. Start gently, keep it fun and do not keep pushing if your child resists.
3. Let the casting directors and children’s agents do their jobs. They do this full time and they want your child to be great.
4. If the audition has lines or takes place in a specific scene, Work with your child in the waiting room only, do not coach them in the audition room. Keep it fun and light.
5. Show up to audition casting calls on time or early if possible. That way you can both relax before the audition. Be professional.

7. Don’t take rejection personally. Maybe today they wanted a redhead. Or perhaps they decided on a three year old and not a two year old. Just because you didn't book this job, does not mean you did anything wrong.
8. Be professional and courteous -to everyone- from the security guard at the front gate of the studio to the receptionist to the casting director, and everyone in the audition room.
9. Teach your child to listen and be open to direction.
10. No chit chat. They don’t want to hear about the traffic, or how your day is going. Put yourself in their position. They will meet 15-50 children and parents auditioning in one day. Would you want to hear 50 excuses on why you were late?
11. Casting directors remember nice children and nice parents.
12. However successful children become, remember they are still children.
13. Support and encourage, but don’t push.
14. Set up short term goals to promote their sense of accomplishment and self-worth.
15. Maintain balance in their lives through quality family time.
16. Never treat professional children as superior to their brothers and sisters or peers.
17. Guard against children becoming either too egotistical or too insecure as a result of their career.

1. Be Prepared. Auditions are a way to market skills and demonstrate value to the entertainment industry.

2. Be Professional and Courteous -to all- from the security guard to the receptionist to the casting director, and to everyone in the room. A performer's personal behavior speaks volumes. Casting directors and producers hire on 3 things, look, talent and professionalism

3. Be Punctual. Casting takes place in a fast-paced environment and industry professionals appreciate consideration of their time and schedules. Don't waste their time! Be personable and responsive, but don't talk too much or try to overstay your welcome.

4. Photos and Resumes. Keep them up to date.

5. Presentation. Be seen and heard. Position so that face is visible (also, keep long hair out of face). If the performer can't be seen or heard, the performance is lost. Dressing for a role is fine, but don't wear a costume. Wear something that suggests the character or the profession and let the performance do the rest.

6. Don't be thrown. Performers were invited there to audition. When other performers enter the waiting room and don't look like you,remember there are different ways to go with every role. Often the casting process is about exploring various ways to go with a character, so stay confident and show them how to do the role. If asked to read another role or make an adjustment, take a moment, and do what is asked.

7. Be Gracious and Receptive. Be open to direction. Don't challenge, make excuses or try to explain. Stay open and easy to direct. They may want to see if the performer can take direction.

8. No chit chat. They don't want to hear about the traffic, or how one's day is going. Casting directors will meet 15-50 people performers auditioning in one day. Why hear 50 excuses on why one is late? Go in. Do the work. Get out. Leave the casting people wanting more instead of having overdosed.

9. Auditions, Like Scenes, Have a Beginning, Middle, and an End. Walk in confidently, take charge, do the best job and get out of the room (always leave them wanting more). Once the audition is done, let it go. It can be a great audition and still not get the job through. They just went another way. Primary responsibilities include:
- Shipping and Receiving: Receive incoming goods, check quantity and part for accuracy.
- Prepare and ship outgoing products which includes labeling, packaging, boxing, and invoicing.

Secondary responsibilities include:
- Shipping Administration: Maintain shipping and receiving records. Organize and file shipment paperwork.
- Maintain packaging materials and purchase shipping supplies including courier packing pouches, envelops, boxes, and packing supplies.
- Understand procedures and methods when working with FedEx, DHL, UPS and USPS
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisors
