Tenco Industries, Tenco Lakeville, NY Location Position Summary: Under moderate supervision, lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated metal parts, electrical components/wiring and hydraulic attachments according to blueprint tolerances and layout specifications. Fabricates and welds metal components as part of assembly operations to ensure completed products meet Tenco standards. Basic knowledge of electrical systems and wiring is a plus. Essential Functions of the Job: * Aligns and verifies positioning using measuring instruments to determine reference points and compute layout dimensions. * As needed, welds and installs components or subcomponents following blueprint weld symbols with limited supervision. * Set up and operate metal fabrication equipment for the production of Tenco products. * Plans fabrication processes following specifications and using knowledge gained by experience. * Prepares surfaces to be welded and works with blueprints to verify accuracy of pre-assembled metal components to be welded. * Maintains production quantities, efficiencies and quality. * Performs quality control inspections. * Use hand tools to grind and clean fabricated parts to meet required tolerances and specifications. * Installs and tests electrical systems and controls. * Installs, fits and tests hydraulic systems. * May be assigned additional responsibilities as necessary to support the operations process and shop maintenance. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): * Knowledge of basic procedures of mig welding. * Knowledge and basic understanding of metal fabrication techniques. * Knowledge of shop math. * Knowledge and understanding of basic procedures of voltage and amperage for given requirements. * Knowledge of hydraulics systems, components and installation. * Able to use hand and power tools; such as grinders and de-burring equipment. * Able to perform standard measurements. * Able to operate a manual crane hoist, forklift, and hand truck. * Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. * Able to wear personal protective equipment. * Able to work overtime and/or on weekends as production schedules dictate. Individual must have own basic hand tools and tool box. Education and Experience: * High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school preferred * 3 months - 1 year of previous welding/fabricating/assembly experience; preferably in a manufacturing production environment; or completion of trade school. Working Conditions: Work performed in a non-climate controlled metal manufacturing production environment, with frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing around metal fabricated parts, equipment and machinery. Frequent lifting, pushing or pulling of 50 pounds alone and 100> pounds with assistance. Requires sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to identify required material and operate production fabrication equipment (ie hand tools, power tools, etc.).
