Job Description:/h3:
Our client is a US:based subsidiary of an Austrian:based company and market leader in rail interior solutions and metal processing.
Based on continuous and global growth of our business, we are looking for an experienced engineer preferably with rail interior project and engineering background to support our US operations and upcoming projects in the North American Markets.
Manage an entire or partial project work packages and work with the customer through the whole design life cycle ensuring highest levels of design and engineering quality, cost efficiencies and optimal material choices.
Key Responsibilities
:Provide leadership and technical direction within the project team, ensuring adherence to engineering processes to provide high quality designs that meet customers requirements and railway engineering standards
:Reporting on the status of the engineering progress and budget to ensure all tasks are delivered within the budgeted hours and manage any issues, risks or challenges that he / she may face in a structured approach
:Apply methods of safety assurance to be used on engineering projects and related parts (Functional analysis, FMEA, FTA,)
:Ensure completeness and acceptance of the RAMS assessments during the external or internal audits
:Perform ILS and or LCC (Life Cycle Cost) analysis
:Ensure compliance with Safety requirement and validate design documents
:Optimize communication and relationships with customers and other functions Implement
processes/tools/behaviors by considering business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions
:Initiate cross functional reviews to communicate the design development of all interfaces and develop/plan design solutions and mitigations resulting from review actions
:Drive R and D projects as assigned or as deemed appropriate and necessary on time and in budget
:Evaluate results of engineering and R and D programs and prepare reports and recommendations to Management
:Support purchasing and quality management departments in the assessment of suppliers and internal audit functions as well as in FAI audits
:Engineering Degree in relevant technical area preferred
:Design and engineering skills in ProEngineer and Windchill preferred
:Ideally also experience in working with CATIA
:Experience in Safety/RAMS is required (Railway Industry) preferred
:Previous use of FDMS/FTA/MTBF Methodology is a strong plus
:Experience in the rail industry and sheet metal fabrication preferred
:Motivated, driven, responsible
:Team player and good communicator
:Very good English language skills (both written and oral)
:Working knowledge of German and French would be an advantage
:Problem solving skills, leadership strengths
