Job Description
Position: Controls Engineering : Hardware Designer
Department: Controls Engineering
Manager: Controls Engineering Manager

:This position requires the ability to create electrical schematics, release packages, and update drawings. Has the potential to design and program simple automated equipment. Work under the guidance of the lead Controls Engineer. Responsible to assist with the projects success. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed. To design automated equipment according to a customer and internal specification.

:Preferred college degree in Electrical or Engineering related field. Minimum Electricians certificate with demonstrable experience in modern wiring methods. Recent college graduate or less than 3 years automation experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD or equivalent platform. Exposure to Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs, HMIs, Servo control, and Electrical design.

Main Duties
:Ensure the electrical design is functional, robust, and cost effective.
:Innovate and use good judgment to incorporate Calvary Robotics standards and regulatory requirements.
:Research and specify appropriate purchased and preferred components.
:Create electrical wiring schematics, flow diagrams, panel layouts, Bill of Materials, organize release packages, and update schematics.
:Participate in internal and customer design reviews, installations, and service calls when needed.
:Guide Electricians in wiring and codes. Support software validation requirements.
:Work with suppliers to find/develop the most functional and economical solutions to design issues.
:Work under the confines of the project schedule and budget.
:Problem:solve with Mechanical Builders, debug software issues, and update all appropriate documentation.
:Communicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form.
:Work closely with Mechanical Engineering and Build and exhibit objectivity and openness to others views.
:Follow all policy and procedures to maintain ISO9000 Certification requirements.
:Prioritizes, plans, and organizes work and workspace.

Additional Duties
:Support and participate in Calvarys Quality Management system.
:Contribute to the development and maintenance of Calvary Robotics internal standards.
:Set and maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives.
:Make recommendations for quality and cost improvements.
:Provide support for Technical Documentation activities.
:Support Customer Dialog in the production of new quotes.
:Travel or extend work day if required.
