Purpose of the Job
Responsible for Safety Assurance Management tasks associated with Signaling products being developed and sustaining the existing products.
Signaling Product solutions are comprised of Electronics, Software, and Electro:mechanical design that utilize technical safety concepts such as vital fail:safe design, and inherently safe design.
Safety Assurance is the verification and validation of Design Technical Safety and Process verifications. Detailed Hazard Analyses support demonstration of Safety, activities include top down and bottom up analyses, BOOL analyses, and Application Circuit Checks
Coordinate all the Safety Assurance activities on the project / system / product. Perform Safety analysis, manage Hazard Log, review Design, RAM, VI and T, T and C activities from a Safety perspective
:Apply the safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification and validation) defined for the project / system / product
:Generate and Verify the following Safety Outputs in the Domain of Electronic HW and Software:
:Hazard Analysis (PHA, HA)
:Hardware Hazard Analysis HwHA
:Failure Mode and Effect Analysis FMEA (HwSAV)
:Fault Tree Analysis
Manufacturing Safety Verification Report (Man:SVR)
:Safety Case and Hazard Log
:Delivering within scope, on time and on budget.
:Utilizing safety process in accordance with Company and Industry standards and best practices
:Review safety issues and support root cause identification and mitigation measures
:Organize and attend periodic Safety Reviews
:Defend Safety Case argumentations in front of internal (QS, Safety Assessor) and external (ISA) assessors; define and follow:up action plans to close the findings of the assessor
:Manage (if any) the Safety Assurance Engineers involved on the project / system / product

- No NO GO for Safety reasons in Gate Reviews
- Assessment Findings: Low rework due to External / Internal Assessments
- Late Safety Requirements Identification
- Safety Findings: Quality of the inputs
- Build the Safety Reports and the Safety Case
Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
:A proven background in Product Development or System Design microprocessor based system for highly regulated industry (Rail, Defense, Nuclear or Space...)
:Self:starter able to work independently with a sense of urgency and network effectively to gather data from different sources.
:Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication. Self:motivated, detailed oriented ability to learn new techniques in a changing environment are desired.
Knowledge of international RAM standards: MIL:STD, IEC, IEEE, AREMA
