Job Description:/h3:
We seek a healthcare:focused writer and editor who can ramp up within three months to be completely accountable for planning, writing, and editing original content in 3 highly specialized topic areas.

A typical editors core workload involves creating three, all:original, eight:page newsletters each month, although we do have editors who write weekly publications as well. The position reports to the editorial director and is part of the editorial team, but works with minimal supervision.
The editor must be skilled at creating and editing copy that is timely, accurate, engaging, and informative. Applicant must earn CPC or other specialty certification during the first three of months employment.

This position will allow someone to work from their home office in Rochester, NY.

Compensation: Salary range is 40,000 : 48,000 DOE.

:Develop, source, research and write articles on technically complex healthcare coding or compliance topics.
:Gain expertise and appropriate certifications as necessary to demonstrate specialty expertise.
:Meet editorial deadlines and coordinate with other editors and staff to see publications through the editing, layout, and proofing process.
:Assist with editing and proofing other publications.
:Maintain relationships with consulting editors.
:Maintain and build source relationships.
:Respond to reader questions.
:Share insight about specialties and readers with editorial, marketing, and sales teams.
:Review and edit marketing materials for accuracy and appropriateness.
:Assist with book projects, audioconferences, and other special projects as needed.
:Follow style standards.
:Attend occasional conferences or events to establish and maintain industry knowledge, source relationships, and reader connections.
:Shadow members of pubs target audience on an annual basis.
:Attend local AAPC or other appropriate specialty meetings on a regular basis.
:Maintain social media accounts.
:Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree and writing experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
:Ability to work responsibly from a remote office.

:Ability to present, write, edit, and organize thoughts in a clear, concise, and well:organized manner.

:Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
