My client is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of quality food ingredients.
The main facility totals over 71,000 sq. ft. and is comprised of office, laboratory, production, warehouse, maintenance and other utility areas.
This company specializes in fermentation, spray drying, powder blending and packaging.
Responsible for developing, administering and maintaining applicable Food Safety Programs & Policies and implementation and continuous improvement of food safety focused programs including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), SQF Food Safety and Quality systems and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Develops, maintains and audits quality systems in relation to food safety prerequisite programs.
Ensures compliance to and audits HACCP plans.
Performs GMP audits and ensures compliance.
Performs trend analysis on audit findings to drive training needs and opportunities for improvement.
Performs internal quality audits.
Coordinate third part audits.
Implement, maintain, and improve SQF (Safety Quality Food) program and cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practices.
Develop SQF/ISO procedures.
Train employees on SQF/ISO procedures.
Validate SQF procedures.
Evaluate food safety concerns in facility and implement programs to eliminate hazards.
Provide oversight and direction of quality systems.
*Bachelor's degree in Science related fields.
*3-5 years practical experience in Food Safety or Management of Quality or Production, or Project Management in the food industry.
*HACCP (hazard analysis critical control point system) and SQF certifications desired.
*Working knowledge of GMP, Microbiology, GLP, Hygiene controls, Validation and HACCP principals.
*Competencies in IT based applications such as LIMS, SAP etc.
*Identify and assess potential food safety hazards and quality defects. *Effectively train essential plant employees in HACCP principles and SQF principles.
*Drive continuous improvement.
*Affect change through indirect leadership.
*Write SOPs and work instructions.
*Effectively work with production team and other members of quality team to develop and maintain a robust and effective food safety and quality system. *Possess excellent written and verbal skills and be proficient at Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
