Job Description:


The applicant will provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to high school students within the school districts of Genesee and Wyoming County.


Provide tutoring in specific subject areas as assigned.

Complete all required paperwork and submit in a timely manner.



60 credit hours or 24 credit hours in the subject area to be tutored is required. Associates degree preferred.


One semester of tutoring experience and demonstrated competency in subject area to be tutored is preferred. Candidate must have working knowledge of learning styles and strategies.

Special Skills

Preference will be given to individuals having backgrounds similar to the target population and/or TRiO alumni. Candidate must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to people with diverse cultural and racial backgrounds; work independently and effectively with academically under-prepared youths; be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays, in order to meet the needs of the students' schedules; and, have reliable transportation to and from work.

Additional Information:

This is grant-funded, temporary, part time (up to 19.5 hours/week) position. Hours are variable and assigned as needed.
