As the company transitions, we are seeking Scientist II for our Reference Laboratory in Rochester, NY. The Scientist II in the Reference Laboratory assures the Calibration Traceability by executing complex analytical testing of patient samples and other fluids to support the release process, stability testing, accuracy testing, and new method development. This testing uses a variety of instrumentation including manual spectrophotometers, Olympus AU400, flame photometers, atomic absorption, RIA, GC and HPLC. The Scientist II maintains instrumentation, calibrates, runs quality control, and analyzes requested samples. Summary reports, analysis of technical data, evaluation of quality control, and instrument troubleshooting are within the scope of this position. Work is scheduled, supervised, and follows established methods and procedures. Product accuracy is dependent upon the technical ability of this individual and reproducibility of the analytical methods. In addition, a Scientist II will apply their technical and analytical troubleshooting skills to resolve quality issues ranging from instrumental breakdowns, obsolescence of reagents and standards, will serve as a chemistry leader for the assays assigned and have the ability to report and summarize analytical data to their peers. This person may be asked to develop or improve an analytical method, and validate its LOD, LOQ, LOB, reproducibility, linearity and precision. BachelorA?s Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or equivalentDemonstrate some laboratory environment experience. Familiarity with GLP and GMP practices.
