Job Summary: The Human Resources Specialist will be an important part of the HR team by carrying out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, wellness, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. + Assist with recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Maintains local AAP program, and insures accuracy with app flow log. + Assist with planning and conducting new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. + Trains management and leadership in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, sexual harassment and Train the Trainer Program. + Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and conduct investigations. + Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. + Assist in administering performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. + Assist in administering salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization. + Assist in administering benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance. + Plan and execute employee activities that foster meaningful connection to the Company and site (United Way Campaigns, Open Enrollment and Wellness Activities). + Participate in quarterly communications meetings to provide updates and communications to employees. Education and Experience: + BachelorA?s Degree preferred or Associates Degree and 2+ years of related Human Resources experience within employee relations, benefits, and policy administration. + Experience interacting and supporting all levels of employees. + Knowledgeable with local, state and federal employment laws. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office. HRIS/Applicant Tracking System experience preferred. Skills and Competencies: + Strong attention to detail. + Ability to work and maintain confidentiality. + Excellent file management skills + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Able to work independently. + Strong computer skills.
