Opening Full Time 40 hours Grade 052 Office of Sr VP and COO MC Schedule 8 AM:5 PM Responsibilities Position Description: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of the Medical Center, the Senior Director has managerial oversight for all processes related to recruiting executive and senior faculty at the University of Rochester Medical Center. This position is the primary liaison to our executive and senior faculty candidates, leadership team, search committees, and external search partners. The purpose of this role is to manage and develop the people, processes, and tools that provide a streamlined and unparalleled candidate experience. Every candidate contact should strengthen the URMC brand. Main Responsibilities: In direct partnership with the Dean and CEO of the Medical Center, as well as department chairs, provides strategic oversight for the planning and implementation of recruitment activities for senior faculty and executive candidates. Liaison to University PresidentA?s office for all matters related to senior faculty and executive recruitment. Collaborate closely with Search Committee Chairs to develop search and communication strategies. Identify best:in:class external partners, including search firms, real estate firms, etc., and act as the primary liaison for URMC. Negotiate and approve contracts, and assess vendor performance. Seek opportunities to share and standardize best practices and strategies for faculty recruitment across URMC departments. Develop strategies to target underrepresented minority groups. Lead and manage change efforts: Develop, articulate, and implement a new vision for the department. Identify and Implement 2015 systems and technology Develop internal web presence and recruitment materials consistent with a professional services department. Partner with IT to develop web:based portal for search committees, as well as candidates. This tool would be available for all faculty recruiting teams. Manage and train exempt and nonexempt staff. Qualifications: Graduation from college or an equivalent combination of experience and training. 3 years of related work experience including at least 1 year in an administrative capacity in an academic office or project management, or the equivalent experience in business. Prefer BachelorA?s degree and 7+ yearsA? experience in a recruiting leadership role, including 5+ yearsA? experience in a managerial capacity, as a member of the senior leadership team. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with superiors, peers and subordinates across the organization. Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority. Solution:oriented; proven focus on operational excellence. Unwavering ethics and values; trusted partner. Confident executive presence. Solid track record of process redesign and system implementation, Lean or Six Sigma Training preferred. Strong collaborator; focused on organizational success.
