Responsibilities

Job Description:

Coordinates efforts to ensure that information systems support departmental objectives and information management needs. Supports efforts to ensure that information systems uphold overall organizational mission and objectives. Works closely with departmental customers to conduct business analysis and identify business objectives and requirements. Assists in the development of technology plans and strategies. Coordinates the planning and implementation of systems related projects. Maintains a high level of client satisfaction with Information Services as provided to assigned clients.

Responsibilities:

* Assist in expanding or modifying systems to serve new purposes or improve work flow.

* Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems.

* Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.

* Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.

* Review and analyze computer printouts and performance indicators to locate code problems, and correct errors by correcting codes.

* Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.

* Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs a computer program is to address.

* Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn how to develop programs that meet staff and user requirements.

* Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.

* Determine computer software or hardware needed to set up or alter system.

* Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to a user environment.

* Analyze information processing or computation needs and plan and design computer systems, using techniques such as structured analysis, data modeling and information engineering.

* Define the goals of the system and devise flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs.

* Train staff and users to work with computer systems and programs.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and 3-4 years of related experience, preferably 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer five years of position specific subject matter knowledge and / or experience in planning and applying information technology to one or more business functions OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
