Candidates with PK-12 credentials are welcome to apply. Brief Description of Responsibilities + Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in TESOL + Engage in scholarship + Participate in service activities, serve on department/campus-wide committees + Work collaboratively with department faculty in dual certification programs + Supervise candidates in field experience and student teaching placements + Collaborate with public school personnel + Use technology in teaching, including online instruction + Participate in program implementation and support program assessment for CAEP/TESOL International Association accreditation + Advise teacher candidates + Collaborate with public school personnel + Demonstrate continuous professional development + Work with diverse students to prepare culturally competent teachers Required Qualifications + Terminal degree or ABD in TESOL or an appropriate field from an accredited US Dept of Education or internationally recognized institution (ABD candidates must earn their doctorate within 6 months of appointment) + Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the PK-12 level in TESOL or appropriate field + Evidence of successful scholarship + Demonstrated ability to work with socially, culturally, and linguistically diverse populations to prepare culturally competent teachers. + Demonstrated ability to use technology to support teaching and learning Preferred Qualifications + Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate TESOL education courses + Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate bilingual and/or world languages education courses + Experience in teaching or supporting literacy programs + Experience in field-based teacher education + Evidence of collaborative teaching and planning + Experience in teaching online + Experience in urban education + Evidence of successful scholarship beyond the dissertation + Experience in seeking external funding + Background in additional areas of expertise that support graduate and undergraduate programs of the department + Demonstrated familiarity with CAEP/TESOL International Association standards + Successful experience working in an inclusive setting Start Date: August, 2018 Best consideration date: February 28, 2018 Application Process: Please visit to submit your cover letter explicitly addressing the required qualifications and any of the preferred qualifications that apply to you with examples, CV, a statement of teaching philosophy, transcripts (as Other Doc 1), and contact information of three references (as Other Doc 2).
