Job Description Job Description Easter Seals New York's The Kessler Center is hiring for a full-time school psychologist. The Kessler Center is a residential special education school specializing in students with autism spectrum disorders who have co-morbid mental health, trauma, or behavioral histories. Students typically range in age from 12 to 21. The School Psychologist is responsible for CSE evaluations and re-evaluations, direct student therapeutic counseling for IEP counseling services, contribution to IEP development, attendance at psychiatric rounding, and participation in individual planning and treatment team meetings. In addition, the school psychologist will provide trainings to staff in both the school and residential settings to enhance staff understanding and capacity to provide and support the therapeutic needs of the students. Knowledge of a range of therapeutic disciplines such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy preferred. Knowledge and experience administering standardized testing for cognitive, achievement, and adaptive skills required. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year with accrued vacation/personal/sick days, paid agency holidays, medical and dental benefits, and a 403(b) matching retirement plan. Easter Seals New York is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency. The Kessler Center is a NYSED certified 853 private special education school. Master's Degree NYS School Psychologist Certification or Licensed Clinical Psychologist Two years experience preferred. Working knowledge of NYSED part 200 regulations preferred.
