We are seeking a Senior Staff Firmware Engineer located in our Rochester, MN location to help us design and deliver our next generation of SATA and NVMe SSD controllers. In this role you will: * Design, develop and unit test firmware components for embedded systems. * Integrate high quality firmware onto embedded storage controller hardware. * Work closely with other developers to ensure effective and efficient designs. * Create high quality technical documentation. * Analyze, debug and resolve application and system level problems. * Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (Architecture, Hardware, Software, and QA). Requirements: * BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science * 10 years of industry experience developing C / C++ embedded firmware in a team environment * Demonstrated experience in RTOS concepts including task switching, deadlocks, resource management issues * Demonstrated experience in analyzing and debugging firmware and hardware problems * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Understanding of computer storage devices Preferred Experience: * Experience with embedded storage protocols such as SATA, SAS, PCI-e, NVMe, and AHCI * Experience with FPGA and SoC validation platforms * Experience with protocol analyzers and logic analyzers * Familiarity with Tensilica or ARM microprocessors * Familiarity with embedded storage technology such as NAND, PHY, and DDR Job Family: Engineering ProfessionalSDL2017
