Job Description: Responsible for research, design, and development of embedded web client and server software for next generation multi-channel radio products, in conjunction with hardware product development. Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, and mathematical analysis to daily tasking. Analyzes requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints Ability to develop and analyze design tradeoffs against scope, cost, and schedule constraints Consults with electrical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software/firmware, and operational performance requirements of the overall system. Experience with mentoring and supervision of engineers Develops and conducts software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation. Design, implement, test, and maintain embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment. Provide technical support to internal and external customers including factory software introduction support and manufacturing issue resolution. Execution of software development process in a CMMI Level 3 environment. Perform coding and unit test of resultant software/firmware. Perform software/firmware component integration Participation and lead peer reviews Identifying, tracking and repairing defects. Qualifications: BSEE, BSCS, BSCE, BSSE required with a minimum of 7 years industry experience. Experience with Web Development & Java Script targeted for an embedded system Proficiency Object-Oriented Design (OOD) required. Must have a strong firmware development background. Experience with software emulators/debuggers required. Proficiency with multi-threaded design and/or embedded real-time operating systems is required. Experience with flash file systems, XML, networking protocols and/or Ethernet switching. Preferred Additional Skills: Strong proficiency with Java, C/C++, object-oriented design and CORBA Familiarity with real-time operating systems, such as QNX or Linux Knowledge of Leaflet script based mapping library and Angular JS is desirable. Experience with wireless communications systems is highly preferred. Knowledge of C/C++, Java, IP Networking and Wireless Networking desirable. Experience with design and implementation of time-critical software applications Ability to analyze and modify existing software to add new capabilities. Ability to work effectively in a team environment; good interpersonal and communication skills Creativity in problem solving Understands basic principles and technical concepts; position provides opportunities to apply theory to practice Ability to obtain a security clearance.
