BioTelemetry Research, (formerly Virtual Scopics and Cardiocore), a BioTelemetry Company, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Rochester, NY location. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for providing and supporting infrastructure solutions for BioTelemetry ResearchA?s systems. The Senior Network Engineer provides design, specification and implementation of server, database and networking systems to proactively meet CardiocoreA?s information technology needs in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Senior Network Engineer serves as an escalation point for IT system support issues that cannot be resolved by more junior staff. The Senior Network Engineer interacts with Senior Management, Project Management, Medical Operations and Customer Support groups in addition to serving as a primary point of contact to IT vendors.Day:to:day operations of IT:related functions including server, network, storage and application infrastructure installation and operationManage, set:up, administer, support and troubleshoot applications, server and network infrastructure and remote systems including, Windows servers, VMware, Terminal Services, Citrix, firewalls, routers; broadband connectivity, database servers, and applicationsProvide support in performance and security monitoring, back:ups, reporting, problem identification, management, and resolutionCreate documentation for and perform installation of new applications in the Validation and Production environmentsCreate and maintain documentation to identify server hardware, software configuration, and network connectivityDevelop plans for hardware, systems operations, and technical procedures; provide input for disaster recovery and security plansTroubleshoot issues via telephone or in personManage system activity such as planning, installation, operation and maintenanceMake necessary recommendations for additional resources or hardwareIdentify and manage service improvements to increase customer satisfactionMaintain accountability for resolving service problems and for prioritizing work requestsEnsure satisfactory delivery of all projectsInvolvement in 24x7 rotation of pager, requiring response within standard timeframesOccasional evening and weekend workOther duties as assignedThe physical demands are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this jobQualifications Education: Bachelors Degree, or equivalent work experienceMasterA?s degree a plus Experience: Minimum five (5) years of technical experience as a Systems or Network EngineerDemonstrated experience in delivering technical services, interacting with clients, hands on System Administration skills, and experience in performing routine IT asset management tasks (license management, license/maintenance renewal tracking, etc.)Demonstrated experience in managing technical services and mentoring staffDemonstrated experience in researching and evaluating alternative solutions and recommending the most efficient and cost effective system solution for business needsDemonstrated experience with WAN and broadband connectivity such as VPN, DSL, data satellite, T1, firewalls and routersDemonstrated experience with VLAN and switched technologies Skills:Skills in technologies such as: Active Directory, Windows Server 2003/8/12, Exchange, IIS, SQL, and CiscoDemonstrated ability to perform complex technical tasks and analysisDemonstrated capability of working independently as well as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team members, other teams, management, and customersStrong written and verbal communication skillsBioTelemetry Research is an EOE.
