Frontier communications is seeking an Engineering Project manager to join our project management team. The ideal candidate will manage the detailed planning, organizing, funding and implementation of large, complex engineering and network projects involving multiple disciplines and locations along with IT development. The Project Manager's decisions and actions are critical to the realization of corporate financial, operational, and marketing objectives and strategies. The Project Manager's mission is to manage projects to completion on time, within budget, and meeting or exceeding quality standards that deliver consistently superior services to customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Defines project scope through detailed planning; identifies total impact on internal organization/processes, including internal impact of multiple projects on core resources, establishes project team, project objectives and responsibilities, identifies dependencies, assesses potential risks, and establishes schedule for implementation.Develops project plans, responsibility matrix, secures resource commitments, and establishes acceptance criteria and plan.Establishes and maintains communication with team members, vendors, contractors, and other departments throughout project planning and implementation.Manages implementation of project against committed schedule and budget, coordinating team members and vendors/contractor efforts. Ensures projects remain on schedule and within budget.Develops and fosters others' development of processes, methods, procedures, job aids, etc. to continually move toward consistent "best practices" and uniform corporate standards.Improve operating efficiencies and delivery of continuous improvements in quality of maintenance and services delivered to customers.Assures completion and acceptance and transfer of responsibility to other departments. Provide financial reconciliation and project closure. Ensure logical transfer of project from implementation stage to operating and revenue generating stage. Assures asset records are formalized, and financial accountability is provided to the corporation.Manage project(s) and project resources throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle. Responsible for the following: development of project milestones, project schedules, tracking project costs, tracking the design, development, and testing progress of the project, documenting and tracking issues and risks, communication of project status to management.Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneouslyProvides regular and timely Project status updates to project team and management as needed to ensure Projects are meeting agreed upon timelineREQUIRED SKILLSProficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, and Visio.Customer driven and a team player, with strong interpersonal and customer interface skills including "influence management" and "conflict resolution".Excellent organizational and analytical skills, process and detailed oriented, a self-starter who is highly motivated to obtain goals/results.Candidate must excel in communication/presentation skills, both oral and written, and tailor communication to various levels of the organization.Ability to interact professionally with diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter expertsMust be able to work and prioritize in a fast paced changing environment while coordinating multiple complex projects simultaneously.Demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise project documentationEffectively manages client expectations and escalationsAbility to work either independently and as part of a larger team.Ability to think logically in solving assigned problems and to present recommendations with clarity in written and graphic form.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical professionalsStrong interpersonal skills including team building, coaching and mentoringREQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree and five to seven years as a Project ManagerTelephony knowledge including data networks, internet protocol and networkingAbility to learn and understand complicated technical conceptsA thorough understanding of project management principles, sufficient to manage large projects.
