POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the CIO, the Database Administrator is responsible for the development, organization, modification, implementation, maintenance, and operational support of the CaterTrax database structures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Troubleshoots and resolves database issues related to performance, security, recovery, or integrity. - Creates backups, restores and recovers database management systems. - Implements all changes, queries, reports, etc. to database environments through tools including database tickets. - Implements operational automation using tools. - Supports software teams by analyzing project data requirements and creating the corresponding technical data design. - Ensures database workflows and provides best practices for performance testing. - Provides feedback regarding optimization for query reviews. - Creates/updates database design documentation. - Develops strategic plans for data and database server migration. - Works closely with SCRUM Teams to create database structures that meet current and future business objectives. - Reviews database project requests and completes time analysis. - Manages database server in relation to standard SQL setup and configuration on the network. - Supports standard sprint release cycle and database maintenance. - Develops methodologies for the ongoing assessment of database performance using index tuning, disk optimization, etc. - Troubleshoots database issues and creates and communicates business continuity and disaster recovery plans. - Establishes and maintains best practices for security, roles and privileges within database environments. - Develops and maintains changes through source control and testing processes for modifications to databases. - Required to be available for on call troubleshooting, early morning releases, after-hours support for critical system issues, and 24-hour support maintenance as needed. EDUCATION Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information systems, Computer Science or other related field. EXPERIENCE At least 3-5 years related work experience. COMPUTER SKILLS Proficiency in the following: MS Office, MS SQL Server 2008-2016, Enterprise Manager, Reporting Services, SQL Backup, SSIS, MS Access, Windows Server, Active Directory, T-SQL / DBCC, High Availability/Disaster Recovery, Azure and Azure SQL preferred.
