National Service Desk
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Service Delivery and Engineering (SDE)/National Service Desk (NSD) provides high quality, effective, and efficient Information Technology (IT) services to those responsible for providing care to Veterans across all VA service locations. The National Service Desk provides a central point of contact for enterprise:class IT service and support, as well as outage notifications and information dissemination 24/7/365. Without this coverage, users throughout the VA lack immediate, first line of support for hardware, software and connectivity problems.
Job Description:
Manage daily routine operations and maintenance of IT software system applications, communicate with end users, and understand issues related to end user applications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
: Have knowledge and vast familiarity with technical disciplines associated with troubleshooting hardware / software equipment and applications
: Ability to communicate using terminology unique to the IT industry
: Have experience in gathering and compiling information for analysis based on discussion with operational staff and reading technical documentation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
: Must have experience troubleshooting IT related issues for customers on a multitude of applications
: Must be able to input and document problems, findings and outcomes
: Answer phone calls and emails
Minimum Qualifications
: MUST be a U.S. Citizen
: MUST have 1 year minimum IT troubleshooting experience
: Possess High School diploma or GED
: Clearance Requirement :: Candidates will be subjected to a government background investigation for access to classified information.
