ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Member of a team providing a calibration solution for a customer application project or Delphi internal new technology/strategic project * Perform engine management calibration tasks for Powertrain Control Modules (PCM), such as base engine control, diagnostics, driveability, emissions, and fuel economy. * Calibration tasks will be assigned by the project Lead Calibration Engineer. * Calibration tasks will be performed on engine dynamometers and in test vehicles. * Provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementation of algorithms. * Propose algorithm modifications to improve system performance. * Develop calibration procedures for new algorithms * Test and validate new versions of PCM software * Lead analysis and investigation of engine management system issues, including calibration, engine hardware, electronic hardware, and software. * Provide calibration assistance to Delphi Global team members in other Technical Centers. * Prepare Calibration Reports as required * Interface with customer to assist with calibration and technical questions, and develop recommendations for continuous improvement. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree - Engineering or Equivalent Engineering Major * Possess a Driver's License with no loss of license or major infraction in past 3 years. * Detailed knowledge of spark-ignition internal combustion engines, including combustion metrics and analysis techniques * Strong problem solving and analytical skills. * Practical experience with engine hardware and electronic engine control and diagnostics * Ability to support travel, both domestic and international. PREFERRED SKILLS * Working knowledge and experience with Data acquisition and vehicle calibration tools (ETAS/INCA) * Highly developed oral and written communications skills * High level of interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work independently and with others * Strong interest in product design, particularly automotive and combustion. * Proficient in reading and interpreting electronic schematics * Proficient with MATLAB and ability to write scripts * Working knowledge and ability to use multi-meter and oscilloscope for system diagnosis and analysis
