The successful incumbent's primary focus is desktop support(hardware and software) and helpdesk, as well as performing a variety ofcomplex information technology support duties to ensure smooth delivery oftechnology services. Monitors, operates, coordinates, assists and trains othersin the operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals in order toachieve desired result. Utilizes computer equipment, software and diagnostictools to perform a broad range of customer assistance, production job processing,maintain/repair and computer operations assignments. Update supervisor onstatus of projects and technical issues. Exercises judgment and creativity inselecting and applying procedures correctly, and determines when to referproblems to the supervisor or the next level of support. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDE BY NOT LIMITED TO: * Provide technicalsupport in the use of personal computer hardware, software, telephony andnetworking * Sets up and configuresdesktop computers, peripherals and accounts assigning security level. * Configuring PC and Server hardware * Perform hardware/softwareinstallations. * Tests and debugsprograms. * Troubleshoots, diagnoseproblems, implements corrective action procedures and/or escalates to othertechnical resources as appropriate. * Experience with Networkingmonitoring tools and software * Serves as technicalresource to Networking department. * Administers useraccounts. * Researches andrecommends system equipment upgrades. * Sets up and submitsproduction jobs and edits and debugs computer output * Troubleshoots, repairsand maintenance for computer equipment (eg laptops, disk drives, facsimile,and laser printers) tests personal computers and peripherals on a network todiagnose, hardware versus software problems. * Develops and testscomplex user documentation; works with hardware vendors to resolve equipmentfailures/problems. * May perform routinesecurity checks on the system. * Advanced knowledge and understandingof Windows desktop and Server operating systems, Active Directory and Linux. * Experience with Backup solutions andData Replication for Windows and Linux environments. * Can work independently or in a teamenvironment. * Participate in technicalprojects as assigned by management * All other duties asassigned QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Certifications and/or degree in IT desired, but not required. * Two (2 ) plus years of relevant experience with computers and customer service in a technological environment. * Knowledge of a variety of hardware, software and Windows OS.
