Business Intelligence Specialist - Tableau Developer Rochester, NY FUNCTION: Support the development of a Business Intelligence (BI) framework within the Centralized Modeling Group to optimize the delivery of data and information to business stakeholders. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, build, document, test, maintain and troubleshoot interactive dashboards (in Tableau) as well as customized reports. Engage with business clients to understand information needs and partner to translate them into clear data requirements as well as optimal structures/layouts for dashboards and reports. Engage with the Data Team to understand data availability and limitations and help optimize processes that support BI, including data movement, quality rules, and exception handling. Establish, document, implement and help socialize a set of technical standards and best practices for and end-to-end BI framework. Mentor other team members on all aspects of a BI framework, including standard use of Tableau. NATURE AND SCOPE: This role is highly technical in nature and requires demonstrated attention to detail, execution and follow up on multiple initiatives. The ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is a key factor of success, as is the ability to balance independent and highly collaborative aspects of the job function. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelors' degree in Information Systems, Finance or Business, and six years of experience as a Business Information/ Intelligence Analyst or in lieu of education 10 years or relevant work experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with stakeholders to design, and build interactive dashboards using Tableau, QlikView or similar BI tools. Experience managing reporting lifecycle - analysis and documentation of data requirements, design, preparation, testing and delivery. Knowledge of database concepts including database design and manipulation, and experience with writing SQL scripts. Good working knowledge of PC, client-server, and\\or mainframe systems. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Visio (or similar tool). IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Experience with general programing or statistical languages, especially Python and/or SAS. Prior experience with financial data and understanding of banking concepts. Excellent organizational skills - experience with Project Management a plus.
