Opening Full Time 40 hours Grade 051 Ctr Comm Health & Prevention Schedule 8 AM-4:30 PM Responsibilities Job Summary: Under general direction of the Emerging Infections Program (EIP) Director and Program Managers, with latitude for independent judgment, assists the EIP with review, data cleaning, report generation, and analysis for EIP surveillance programs. Manages REDCap, Excel and Access databases and supports users of those databases, electronic entry and querying processes. Independently identifies database bugs and data collection errors and works with EIP Surveillance Officers (SO) to make recommendations to correct errors and ensure future data quality assurance. Collects medical data from physicians' offices via phone calls in order to complete EIP surveillance activities. Must be professional, well-spoken, and able to maintain HIPAA compliance pertaining to these conversations and paper records. Responsibilities: Coordinate database management for EIP research data. Coordinates educational and administrative activities for EIP. Includes but not limited to: * Data management, analysis, scanning, review, querying, updating, filing, and reporting of surveillance data.Identifies plan for data quality assurance, to be approved by SOs and Program Managers. * Develops spreadsheets and REDCap databases; ensures accurate and complete data entry of EIP surveillance data. * Collects data by use of questionnaires and interviews; Manages REDCap databases in coordination with SOs. * Identifies strategies to address site concerns and troubleshoot data entry, queries and database questions.Maintain HIPAA security and privacy. * Develops customized reports. * Designs posters reporting and charting data for presentation at local and national conferences. * Prepares grant submissions by obtaining necessary materials from internal/external partners, managing deadlines and ensuring that specific sponsor guidelines are followed. * Organizes educational events for various CCH projects by facilitating attendance of external speakers, independently creating advertising materials and coordinating continuing medical and/or nursing education credits. * Develops, edits and maintains EIP website and newsletter. * Acts as a resource to internal and external inquiries and represents the EIP in contacts with UR departments, physicians, physician practices, community health agencies and students. * Assists with minimal administrative duties throughout the Center for Community Health (CCH) as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's degree with major course work in public health field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant job experience including a position where the ability to work with minimal supervision is demonstrated. Familiarity with surveillance data and proficient in REDCap and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher required.
