The Tax Compliance Analyst, US&C will report to the Tax Manager, Americas. This is an early-career tax position, ideal for someone with introductory level tax experience. With supervision and training, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for compliance with state, city and local laws regarding sales and use taxes. This person will also assist with property tax compliance, fixed asset tax compliance, and other miscellaneous tax issues as needed. The person should be a self-starter, flexible and able to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Location is Rochester, NY.KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:a€ cents Monitor and reconcile sales and use tax accounts on a monthly basisa€ cents Maintain G/L accounting including preparation of journal entriesa€ cents Coordinate data feed with 3rd party for sales/use tax preparation, review returns a€ cents Lead assessment for in-house preparation of Property tax returns and Sales and Use tax returns; drive the execution of the chosen path forwarda€ cents Research and respond to tax notices in a timely mannera€ cents Provide support to sales and use tax audits by gathering requested data, conducting analysis of data and tax laws and resolving open issuesa€ cents Perform proactive tax planning as directed for sales use tax audits & use tax self-assessment compliancea€ cents Perform regular internal audits on sales and use tax issuesa€ cents Assist with maintenance of fixed assets for tax purposes in Microsoft Dynamics AXa€ cents Perform ad hoc projects as assignedREQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelora€ (TM) s Degree in Accounting or TaxationEXPERIENCEa€ cents 2-4 yearsa€ (TM) experience in US Sales and Use taxes (multi-state) required; Canadian HST/GST/PST experience a plus a€ cents Proven history interacting with taxing authorities (on audit, notices, etc) desirable.a€ cents Exposure to fixed assets, property taxes, income tax compliance or other related tax areas preferred.a€ cents Must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills; exposure to ERP systems and/or tax compliance software highly desired (Microsoft Dynamics AX experience a plus)QUALITIESa€ cents Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracya€ cents Ability and willingness to learn new tasks and technology quicklya€ cents Entrepreneurial spirit; hands-on and a self-motivated personalitya€ cents Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with the company cultureKodak Alaris is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
