The Tax Compliance Analyst, US&C will report to the Tax Manager, Americas. This is an early-career tax position, ideal for someone with introductory level tax experience. With supervision and training, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for compliance with state, city and local laws regarding sales and use taxes. This person will also assist with property tax compliance, fixed asset tax compliance, and other miscellaneous tax issues as needed. The person should be a self-starter, flexible and able to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Location is Rochester, NY. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Monitor and reconcile sales and use tax accounts on a monthly basis Maintain G/L accounting including preparation of journal entries Coordinate data feed with 3rd party for sales/use tax preparation, review returns Lead assessment for in-house preparation of Property tax returns and Sales and Use tax returns; drive the execution of the chosen path forward Research and respond to tax notices in a timely manner Provide support to sales and use tax audits by gathering requested data, conducting analysis of data and tax laws and resolving open issues Perform proactive tax planning as directed for sales use tax audits & use tax self-assessment compliance Perform regular internal audits on sales and use tax issues Assist with maintenance of fixed assets for tax purposes in Microsoft Dynamics AX Perform ad hoc projects as assigned REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Taxation EXPERIENCE 2-4 years experience in US Sales and Use taxes (multi-state) required; Canadian HST/GST/PST experience a plus Proven history interacting with taxing authorities (on audit, notices, etc) desirable. Exposure to fixed assets, property taxes, income tax compliance or other related tax areas preferred.
